I actually got back from D.C. today. I was visiting 2 of my bffs from college, Noah and Udbhav. We had an electric weekend last year when I had to cancel my bday party but they had both already come from out of town. And had never met. But instantly we became a trio, watched all of Titanic, and then sang My Heart Will Go On at karaoke. This DC trip, we got the gang back together. We chilled our bones in the DC streets, had a delicious Laotian mushroom soup that was beautifully sour, and then played several lovingly hostile rounds of Bananagrams. Before coming back, Noah and I watched Devil Wears Prada. Udbhav refused to participate because he had just listened to a 2 hour podcast about the movie. But then he listened to every word from another room while chiming in on facts he had learned from the podcast. Here's a picture of Udbhav's 11 yr old cat Cindy.

But now I have returned to Philly. I drove Noah to the train so he could return to NYC He had to change the time of his train after we arrived late since Udbhav "had" to show as an Azerbaijani bakery before we left DC. Honestly, worth it.

We listened to the famed Spotify daylight playlist on the way back. With curated lists like girl dinner scratch Sunday morning and indie haze Sunday afternoon. And then finally I got home to my apartment on 4th and Lombard. I like to clean my room before I leave for a trip and I did not have time. And you know what, I regret it. But I also love my room with its hodge podge of colors and art collected from Tyler art fairs and prints from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Once I got home I immediately turned on Survivor, which I've been addicted to. It's Fan v. Favorites and it has taken over my life. Jonathan Penner just left after getting an infection in his leg and I'll miss his fedoras with a single feather poking out.

For the rest of the night I hope to work on my crochet puffer. Here's my progress and the pattern. I'm addicted to this project!

I'm starting class on Tuesday for my final semester of social work school. And you know I'll be working on this puffer. Maybe I'll wear it to graduation. This week I'm most looking forward to wearing my burgundy Doc Marten oxfords.

Christine is a current social work student who spends a lot of her time crocheting, watching reality TV, and explaining the intricacies of celebrity gossip to whoever will listen. She hopes to bike and roller skate more once it's not frigid outside.
