8AM
Woke up feeling honestly a bit uninspired by city life. I just got back from an idyllic, romantic getaway to the Finger Lakes, NY. After 3 years of living in Philly, it’s my first time feeling not-thrilled to be back. Ah! Today is going to be about returning to routines that bring me peace.
9AM
Walked to morning hot yoga which feels insane to be doing in the summer but it is, in fact, how I stay sane. My body, mind, soul, etc. need it!
12-2:30PM
Went to Mr. Rabbit Coffee for a grapefruit espresso tonic (dream summer bev) and to do some laptop work, mostly freelance graphic design and writing work for a local hotel.
Hours are split between Job Work and Personal Online Endeavors like researching citrus juicers, checking Craigslist and FB Marketplace for listings of my bike that was recently stolen, scrolling blogs I follow, adding to my own blog, browsing for a new bike, Zillow-ing lakeside abodes. I love my cafe routine, the internet, espresso.
3PM
Walked to Fitler Square for a little park sit before my shift. I’ve been reading this book of poems, “Cheerleader for a Funeral” by Nina Cassian. I am deeply obsessed with poetry collections that have the author’s face on the cover. She’s so badass!
Grabbed a Yerba Mate (the juice!!!!) and snacks from Maxx’s Produce. Felt grateful for the convenience of city life – it is so nice to hop from a cafe to a park to a shop to my shift.
3:30-11PM
A busy shift! I’m endlessly in love with and forever inspired by the Philly food scene, even after a blissful vacation, I’m genuinely happy to be back in it.
Walked home from work and passed some of my favorite Center City blocks and windows. I miss my bike so intensely but strolling around is always nice, too.
12PM
Wind down for sleeeeep. It ended up being a very nice, restorative day. Goodnight Philly, I love you, I do!
