8:00 AM

Up and at ‘em! Today is a work from home day at a job I’m still pretty new to. Luckily, that means not too much needs to be done in the way of work today. I drag myself from slumber and go downstairs to feed the dog breakfast. Ever since he hit 9, he needs to be watched while he eats breakfast or he refuses to. I scroll on Instagram while I keep an eye on him.

8:40 AM

I take the pup for a walk! We live in West Passyunk and everyone goes all out for Every. Single. Holiday. My partner and I can’t keep up but it’s so much fun looking at decorations while the dog goes for his morning walk (the same can’t be said for the nighttime walk - spooooky)

9:20 AM

I head out! I’ve roped my best friend into helping me empty out the storage unit of another friend. She’s moving back to Texas and has kindly gifted everything inside to my 19 year old daughter, whose studio could use some more furniture. We haul everything out and into our two cars and load it into my house until it can get dropped at Z’s apartment. I treat my friend (and myself) to a little treat and fun bev from Holy Cannoli Cafe as a thank you for engaging in manual labor with me so early in the day.

11:30 AM

I’m back home and checking emails. I’m a Recruitment Coordinator for a Workforce Development Org. We’re not in active recruitment for any programs at the moment so my job mainly consists of monitoring a pretty quiet inbox.

12 PM

I’ve triaged all the emails (told you it was a pretty quiet inbox) and now get to return to my personal to-do list. I’m making a dense bean salad for lunches for the remainder of the week (iykyk) and do some tidying.

1 PM

It’s been a pretty go-go-go morning and I think I’ve earned a little break. Perfect timing because my partner is just arriving home from work! We’re both hybrid workers so it’s fun to hang out when we can. We debrief our days thus far while having a little lay with the animals.

2 PM

Back to the to-do list! I’ve procrastinated starting the gift I’m making for my sister’s birthday (I’ve given myself exactly a week to build something I’ve never done before). I hit Home Depot and Michaels and head back home in time for my kiddo to arrive! They’ve recently picked up a part time job at a new chocolate shop in the city, and every time I see them they come with an entire box of chocolates in hand. Loving how I’m benefitting from this job! They say hi to their brother (the dog) and check out the goods from the storage unit. We hang out and catch up for a while and I introduce them to Crime Scene Kitchen while I putter and do some computer work.

6 PM

Z heads out and I take the dog on a walk. I run into a neighbor and we chat while her son walks my dog up and down the block.

7:30 PM

The bachelorette is on which means it’s bach night at my house. My best friend, partner, sister, and sister’s best friend congregate each week to watch together while I spend the night alone. Tonight they’re doing nachos so I’m joining the festivities. We smoke and eat nachos while I half pay attention to the episode (I think it’s fantasy suites?)

9:45 PM

Everyone heads home and my partner and I watch Bob’s Burgers and decompress from the day. We watch until the cats threaten to break our things. The TV is paused to feed the cats (I’m dinner mommy) and we finish up our episode.

11 PM

We head to bed and I pass out almost immediately (a rarity).
