Morning walk. Neighborhood is quiet as usual but it smelled like burning.
My personal Christmas tradition is to make homemade whipped cream to have with my coffee throughout the week.
We are blessed with a freezer full of bagels from Brooklyn so my husband makes us egg sandwiches for breakfast.
Post-breakfast I put my dog in his Christmas pjs and we open gifts.
I do a holiday themed spin class for the endorphins. I tend to get a bit lonely on Christmas. Ever since COVID and moving further away from family (and not being invited anymore anyway) I’ve had to...adjust. Shout out to anyone who uses Echelon.
Post class and shower is baking time. I bake a double apple cake meant to serve 10-12. We still have leftovers.
Then I get to chill for a bit while my husband preps and cooks dinner.
My husband and I like to randomly choose a recipe to cook for Christmas. We got a cookbook from the library and used wheelofnames.com to pick the entree. Our meal was “Date Night Crap Spaghetti” with a side of tangy marinated eggplant.
After dinner we made our way to Fishtown Tavern. Thank goodness for places that are open on Christmas. Neighborhood was so desolate it felt like it was 3am.
Had a few drinks and watched The World’s Strongest Man competition.
Fishtown Tavern was packed. It felt nice to be in a lively place.
Got home and walked the dog and watched random music videos on youtube. And to all a good night.
