8:30 My alarm goes off and I get up. I want to sleep in but tell myself I can do that tomorrow. Friday was my friend Clare’s birthday and tomorrow is my birthday so today the two of us and some friends are going to the beach to celebrate.

8:38 I start making coffee. I notice this podcast I follow Talk Easy put out an interview with playwright/filmmaker Annie Baker so I put that on. If you’re reading this go see Janet Planet. Before the interview they play an audio clip of the movie trailer and I almost cry. I am so emotional in the morning.

8:46 My dog Henry is up and wants me to feed him breakfast and walk him. I feed him breakfast and walk him.

9:10 He howls at an ambulance. See photo.

9:37 I realize I’m dizzy because I put my contacts in the wrong eyes. I fix this.

11:20 My friend [redacted because she called out of work today] picked my boyfriend Matt and I up and we're on our way to the beach! We listen to the soundtrack from the movie Perfect Days. It’s so good you should watch that movie too.

12:11 Not far from the beach now. Getting kinda hungry I really wanna stop at Wawa but somehow we haven't seen any. Matt can’t believe me and [redacted] have never seen Big Fat Liar and he’s pitching it to us.

1:22 Sitting at a bar called The Seahorse having what we’re all calling a “joke beer” waiting for our friends to get to the beach.

2:22 Matt surprised me and asked my sister Meg to come meet us on the beach and she came! So sweet and so nice to see her. At first I thought she just so happened to also come to Asbury Park at the exact same moment as me but she quickly told me Matt arranged the whole thing and I am a very naive person.

5:23 Leaving the beach. Had so much fun. Ate a huge hot dog (thank you Julia) and some ice cream (thank you Jayce). I can tell I’m a little sunburnt already. We drop off our towels and stuff in our respective cars.

5:27 We can’t find Sohrab and Sabah…

6:16 Found em. We all walk to Asbury Diner. I order a Guinness and bacon grilled cheese. They bring me the Guinness in a plastic glass…It's bloody awful.

7:26 Driving out of the parking lot soaking wet because a storm rolled in while we were walking back to the car. 

8:22 It’s pretty much my birthday so even though Matt has the aux I’m in charge of the music. We listen to Yeezus and Chappell Roan.

8:59 Home sweet home.

10:01 Take a cold shower, sweep up the sand we tracked in, and I’m going to sleep.

Kailee is sorry if she was ever your barista. Not because she was bad at it but because she was kinda mean. She swears she’s a nice person.
