Mea
I used to journal, but it was small entries of my favorite parts of my day or week so whenever I was feeling low I could just open my journal and remind myself of better days. I've never really written about a full day in my life, but when I saw a post a friend shared on Instagram about "A Year in Philly" I was very interested... So here we go!
My day starts off the way it usually does, 5 alarms going off every 5 minutes and me hitting snooze or stop until I finally get up... both my boyfriend and pup don't enjoy this because they're usually up before me and hate my alarm sound... (which is the "alarm" sound -- obnoxious and annoying).
First of many walks of the day - Johnny, my pup, a small white and tan shih tzu enjoys his walks, especially when it's a nice day out and he can stop every few steps to literally smell every little flower or leaf he can!
We get in around 8am and he gets a treat for being a good boy during his walk (he always gets a treat). Post-breakfast my pup is taking his first of many naps of the day.
Now it's time for work... and let me say, I know I am lucky to be able to work remote and hangout with my pup all day long, but sometimes I wish I could go somewhere to work that isn't home or a cafe/coffee shop because I get distracted and not somewhere I need to pay for a desk/room.
What I usually do for work (sparing the boring details):
-Check Slack and Flock
-Make my rounds on all client's social media platforms (i.e. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter) and Google
-Respond to emails, create content, and schedule any for the upcoming days/week
-Sit in on a weekly Wednesday online meeting
-AND today we have an extra meeting... We absorbed a special account and this may be my favorite one because it deals with rescues. This was the 2nd meeting we're having with their team to get more information to continue the onboarding process. Johnny decided he wanted to be held during the whole meeting - he's 11 years old so I couldn't say no (nor did I want to say no!)
Around 1pm - It's time for another pup walk, stretching, and lunch time! I check my personal email and see that my pulmonologist invited me to celebrate World Asthma Day on May 7th via Zoom - I laughed out loud when I saw it. I was diagnosed with Asthma last year but feel like I've had it for a few years prior / post-covid. Still a bummer to me because I wasn't able to workout or run like I used to, I gained weight, and feel like I'm still trying to adjust to my new normal. It's not the end of the world but for someone who enjoyed working out / being outdoorsy and then having to stop and use an inhaler 4 times a day just to be okay is not fun. I also had to drop down from running the half marathon to an 8k which was still a struggle, but I wanted to prove I could still do something.
I hop back online to finish off my work day with the same routine I wrote about above. I research more on the new client and start my part of the onboarding process.
5/5:30pm - My boyfriend returns from work and walks Johnny. We chat about what we're having for dinner.
6:30pm - Johnny gets his dinner while we're cooking ours. We talk about our day and my boyfriend is always impressed with me when I talk about work or clients, I appreciate when he compliments me for "amazing" things I do but for some reason I get so shy and act like it's not a big deal... I know this is something I need to work on.
8pm - I enjoy a scoop of cookies & cream French ice cream because I always make room for dessert.
My day doesn't end with ice cream, but my entry does!
