Bonny Lipschutz
I lay down for a nap on the couch at midnight and wake up two hours later. Nate gets home from work around 2:30am, as I am taking the trash out back. We chat in the kitchen about each other’s day while he has dinner and I wash some dishes. I lay in bed and listen to him shower with Alkaline Trio playing on the little speaker in the bathroom. He lays down next to me for a few minutes until I fall asleep.
I wake up around 11:30am and have coffee and breakfast. I’ve been down with a cold the past couple days, but today I’m feeling a bit better, and go on a walk around the neighborhood. It’s unusually warm out today, about 62F, so I don’t need a jacket, just my black sweater is fine. When I come home, I feed the kitties lunch and Nova settles on my lap as I read a novel. I doze on the couch on and off, but remember to complete my Duolingo lessons.
Around 4pm, Nate takes a stroll around the block with me so he can get some sunlight. Then he goes back to bed.
Nate wakes up around 7pm. He orders us a nice meal from Angelino’s and takes a bubble bath. I just scooped the cats’ litter box and prepared the candles for my little menorah. The food is delivered and we enjoy a quiet dinner together. Nate brings the laptop to the living room and we video call his parents. Then we snuggle on the couch and watch Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday, followed by candle-lighting, and then the second half of the Flyers game. I get ready for bed around 11:30pm, take the nighttime cold medicine, and go to sleep.
